DEFEND THE NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE
The NHS for all its faults and lack of adequate funding is a very important institution for the people and the socialist movement – carrying with it the idea that health care should be provided by publicly owned organisations free at the point of delivery.
The NHS has been under attack for US Health corporations and successive British governments. The Crown is vigorously pursuing a longer term plan to privatise the service. Defending the NHS is part of a wider struggle to defend public sector employment and trade union organisation.
